Account Deletion Policy

You may ask us to close your LocalShopWala account and remove personal information we hold, subject to records we must keep under Indian law (including tax and books of account).

This Policy explains who can ask, how to ask, what we remove, what we may keep, and how long it takes.

• Shop owners — close the business account and related shop data (subject to legal retention)
• Staff — remove their personal profile; the shop’s business records may remain with the shop owner
• Customers — remove their shopper profile and saved addresses, except where law or pending orders require retention

• In the app: Settings → Delete account (where available)
• Email support@localshopwala.com with subject “Account Deletion Request”
• Write to Bhagalpur, Bihar, India with identity proof if we ask for it

After verification, we remove or anonymise from live systems:

• Profile details (name, phone, email, photo)
• Login credentials and active sessions
• Staff access linked to that person
• Personal preferences and non-legal notification settings
• Public shop page and product listings (when a shop owner deletes the account)
• Saved customer addresses on the shopper profile
• Writing-tool history linked to the account, where not already mixed into anonymous totals

Like any business that issues invoices and collects fees, we may retain:

• Invoices, tax, and subscription payment records — up to eight (8) years for statutory compliance
• Security logs needed for fraud or misuse investigations
• Anonymous totals that cannot identify you
• Backup copies for up to about ninety (90) days before final purge
• Records needed for pending disputes, chargebacks, or court orders
• Communications required by regulators or courts

When a shop owner deletes the account, customer order history held for that shop is removed from LocalShopWala live systems unless the law requires retention.

Shop owners should inform their customers and export any records they need before deletion. Customers should save receipts from the shop before the shop closes.

Deletion on LocalShopWala does not erase copies the shop already printed, emailed, or saved offline.

Deleting a customer shopper profile does not force deletion of a separate customer record the shop created at the sales counter, if that record is independent.

When you choose Delete account in the app (or we accept a verified email request), your account is marked inactive right away.

Your profile is removed within thirty (30) days — not immediately. If you sign in again within those thirty (30) days, the account may be restored.

After that period, we complete deletion or anonymisation from live systems. Complex accounts or pending payments may take longer; we will tell you if so.

Once the thirty (30) day period ends and deletion is completed, the account cannot be restored. Product lists, stock, reports, and customer lists will be lost unless you exported them first.

You may open a new account later with the same phone number, but old history will not come back.
