1. Introduction

Some shops may send you a UPI payment link for an order or bill. This policy explains what LocalShopWala provides and what we do not handle.

LocalShopWala is software for shops. We are not a bank, payment gateway, or escrow for product orders.

2. How UPI Links Work

  • The shop chooses when to create a payment link — it is optional
  • The link opens a page with the shop's UPI details or QR code
  • You pay with PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, or any UPI app directly to the shop
  • Money goes to the shop's UPI ID, not to LocalShopWala
  • Links expire after a few hours for security

3. After You Pay

  • Send the UPI receipt, screenshot, or transaction ID to the shop on WhatsApp, phone, or in person
  • The shop checks their bank/UPI app and marks the bill as paid
  • LocalShopWala does not automatically confirm UPI payments for shop orders

4. Notifications

If you use the storefront app with notifications on, you may get a push alert when the shop sends a payment link. Email may also be used when the shop has your email address.

5. What We Are Not Responsible For

  • Failed, delayed, or duplicate UPI transfers
  • Wrong amount paid or paid to the wrong UPI ID if details were changed outside our app
  • Disputes about refunds, delivery, or product quality — contact the shop
  • Shop closure, non-acceptance of payment proof, or fraud by third parties
